Film screening: “God Grew Tired of Us,” a 2006 Sundance Film Festival
winner that explores the indomitable spirit of three “Lost Boys” from the Sudan
who leave their homeland, triumph over seemingly insurmountable adversities and
move to America.
Saturday, October 11, 9:00 PM, 125 Civil Engineering
Film screening: “The Lost Boys of Sudan,” an Emmy-nominated
feature-length film that follows two Sudanese refugees on their extraordinary
journey from Africa to America.
Wednesday, October 22, 7:00 PM, Student Recreation Center, Multipurpose
Building
Benjamin Ajak, Judy Bernstein, and possibly Alepho Deng, authors of They
Poured Fire on Us From the Sky, will give a public presentation, answer
questions from the audience, sign books, and recognize the One Book Program’s
essay contest winners.
